The Shelter Program aims to provide safe shelter for internally displaced persons by providing healthy living conditions with privacy and dignity to groups of people and families. This occurs in various forms such as camps, temporary or permanent housing. The first program to support returning and displaced families was launched in Diyala Governorate, repairing and rehabilitating 60 homes, with the support and funding of the (SELAVIP) organization, in the areas of Diyala, Al-Muqdadiya, Nofal Village - Al-Tala’a - Hamada Village - Al-Akidat Village. The number of families benefiting from the project reached (360), and the houses were repaired and rehabilitated.

Home repair and rehabilitation within the “Bothoor Alkhayr” emergency response consists of 40 volunteers in different areas inside Iraq, who submit weekly reports on changes related to the humanitarian situation in their area, including new increases in the number of internally displaced persons. This report is sent to the program team that determines The best course of action required to correct the emergency. Examples of results include the distribution of non-food baskets consisting of kitchen sets, mattresses, solar lamps, and kerosene heaters, as well as other basic requirements, in addition to coordination with other programmes, such as livelihoods, food security, protection, water and sanitation programmes, to inform them of any issues needed.
