Your donation will go to BAORD to plant and maintain 40,000 trees
Rural Iraq faces challenges due to drought, erosion and desertification. In Iraq, in addition to the weak ability of structural treatment to reduce entrepreneurial capital and frustrate human development. This initiative enables children to experience at an early age that they can make a difference. Inspired by Mary, whose short life's fight against cancer and love of the outdoors empowers many children to become enthusiastic, environmentally responsible adults.
The project will plant trees with young children in 5 villages and rural areas. Several species of trees suitable for the tropical climate will be planted. Community leaders and school heads will be sensitized on the benefits of tree planting and the environment. By providing environmental skills and knowledge to rural school children, children will be empowered to protect their local environment. The community will benefit from generating income from the fruit.
Because of the awareness generated by this project, children and the community will learn to care for trees, not cut them down. Knowledge of tree planting and protection will be passed on to future generations. If this project is successful, we will identify additional sectors where trees can be planted, and publicize our good work.
