After her home was destroyed and their source of livelihood stolen by the terrorist organization ISIS, Madiha returned with her husband and five children to their homes in the Muqdadiya district - Iraq, to find it completely destroyed. Members of the terrorist organization ISIS destroyed her home and family land and stole her money, property, and tools, her source of livelihood, with the loss of their means of livelihood, Madiha and her family had no hope of sending their children to school for the purpose of getting an education. The “Madiha Initiative” strives to empower women with stories like “Madiha” by providing them with tools and resources to build their sustainable livelihoods. As part of our project to support female-headed families, “Madiha got a small project to restart working with her family again, in addition to being equipped with fabrics and tools to work with her family and earn some money as well. “The impact of this project on me will be positive and we will have the opportunity to restore our lives again.” With her renewed income, Madiha can finally pay for school, send her children to school, and give them a better future. “Personally, I have more hope for this project. We hope that this kind of support and projects will continue in our area – especially for survivors because they do not have regular income.”
