At least 220 women each month will learn to sew and how to run a small sewing business from their homes. A woman enters the course not knowing the basics; They leave with a means of livelihood and the ability to provide for their families' sewing needs.
Poverty remains widespread in Iraq, whose economy is suffering, with displaced people particularly hard hit. Widows are particularly vulnerable to unemployment and poverty. In order to help widows and other women, BAORD started sewing, barbering and beauty classes. These classes teach women how to sew a variety of clothing from patterns that they can then sell. They can then make clothes for their families and set up small home businesses.
During the Tailoring, Barbering and Beauty course, women learn to calculate clothing budgets and save by making their own clothes. They learn to design and make a variety of clothing. They also learn how to create a business from home. Health, peace, and women's rights lessons are also taught during class.
Women learn to save money that would otherwise be spent on clothes in order to buy a sewing machine, a hairdresser, a beauty salon and start a small business. Course graduates sew clothes for their families, start a home-based business and/or become tailoring, barbering and cosmetology teachers.

Rural Iraq faces challenges due to drought, erosion and desertification. In Iraq, in addition to the weak ability of structural treatment to reduce entrepreneurial capital and frustrate human development. This initiative enables children to experience at an early age that they can make a difference. Inspired by Mary, whose short life's fight against cancer and love of the outdoors empowers many children to become enthusiastic, environmentally responsible adults.
The project will plant trees with young children in 5 villages and rural areas. Several species of trees suitable for the tropical climate will be planted. Community leaders and school heads will be sensitized on the benefits of tree planting and the environment. By providing environmental skills and knowledge to rural school children, children will be empowered to protect their local environment. The community will benefit from generating income from the fruit.
Because of the awareness generated by this project, children and the community will learn to care for trees, not cut them down. Knowledge of tree planting and protection will be passed on to future generations. If this project is successful, we will identify additional sectors where trees can be planted, and publicize our good work.
